HO Scale BI-50-2, BI-50-5, BI-50-1
50’ plug door boxcar kit

Originally built by General American Transportation Co. for the UP in 1955, and the UPRR Omaha shops in 1955, and 1957, the
cars were delivered in the “Orange” scheme. The models, produced
exclusively for the UPHS by Branchline Trains for our 2008 convention
come in the following schemes:

The BSSUP slogan car is an as-built BI-50-2 class, built by UPRR-Omaha in 1957 (200 cars - 499100-499299).
The 45" B&W medallion car is a 1960 repaint of the GARX lease cars built in 1955 by GATC (General American Transportation Company) that eventually became UP class BI-50-5 after UP bought them when the lease expired
(50 cars - 499700-499749).
The STARW slogan, 60" color medallion, car is a 1968 repaint of class BI-50-1, which has had it's running board removed and A-end ladders shortened
(100 cars - 499000-499099). They were built by UPRR-Omaha in 1955.
